Meet Diya
Diya Nair is a rising junior attending Nashua High School South. As
early as elementary school, Diya and her team qualified for First Lego
league robotics regionally. In middle school, Diya attended the Academy
for Science and Design to further her interest in STEM. She was exposed
to even more technology after taking courses ranging from Computer
Science to Engineering & Technology. Diya was chosen to represent her
2018 Middle School graduating class in the Academy for Science and
Design as a role model in STEM. As a freshman in Nashua High School
South, Diya's passion and interest in technology and STEM led her to be
nominated by her High School as a STEM advocate for Women and Late
Bloomers for a High School Tedx like talk which was broadcasted by the
Nashua ETV. Diya was also part of the Nashua High School South
Innovations Club. As part of the Innovations Club team, Diya and her
team developed a mobile app for School Safety which would help with
early detection of school shootings and other threats. This app
qualified as one of the five state finalist teams in NH for the Samsung
Solve for Tomorrow Competition. With her increased interest, Diya is now
the Secretary of the Innovations Club at Nashua High South as a
sophomore. Using her web technology and software skills, Diya is
currently the President and Editor-in-Chief of Panther Prints which is
the student-run newspaper of Nashua High South.
